Photo Submission Guidelines
We require some headshots and some full body shots.
Photos are the most important part of your profile. Recipients base
their decisions to a great extent on photos. Photos are essential to the
matching process; without good photos, your profile cannot be posted.
Professional and or modeling photos are fine (as long as they meet the
criteria below). If you have professional photos, it is preferred to
send some unstyled, non-professional photos as well.
Photos need not be professional; have a friend take some for you if you
don’t have any good ones handy.
Good Photos Should:
• Be clear, bright, and in focus. Resolution should be relatively high.
• Show you alone (without others in the picture); the background should be pleasant and undistracting.
• Be taken in natural, outdoor light, preferably (flash is typically unflattering to the complexion).
• Show you smiling with a natural expression; hair and clothing should be kempt.
• Show your facial features very clearly (not obscured by sunglasses, big hats, etc.). Body shots should show you head to toe.
Photos Should Not:
• Be taken at odd, unflattering angles (from your own cell phone, for example), or show you with goofy expressions.
• Have dark or distracting/messy backdrops, and/or show you in a crowd of others.
• Show you in a bar and/or with an alcoholic drink in your hand.
• Show you with sexually provocative clothing, poses, or expressions.
• Show you with any identifying information (such as school logo on clothing) that cannot be cropped out.
